Rachelle Mackey RN,OCN is a Nurse Supervisor/Navigator at Virginia Cancer Specialists Gainesville office. She has worked for Virginia Cancer Specialists for 11 years . Her daily tasks include navigating the patient throughout their cancer journey in collaboration with the Physician, nursing staff and family members.
She has attended the 2019 Spring NCODA Summit in Denver, Colorado and 2019 Fall Summit in Orlando, Florida. She is an active member of the Nursing Committee with NCODA and recently co-authored the article The Oral Oncolytic Maze in the Fall 2019 Oncolytics Today publication with Mary Anderson RN and Martha Kuehle RN.
She believes that nursing education to patients on side effect management and oral adherence are an integral part of helping patients and their family members when any oral medication is ordered.
