Dr. Williams is the Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Director of Cancer Research at the Avera Cancer Institute in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He is the co-chair of the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and an active principal investigator on multiple clinical trials. Dr. Williams is also a co-Director on the WIN Consortium Directorate and has faculty appointments at the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy, South Dakota State University School of Pharmacy and the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. His main clinical and research interests are clinical trial development, molecular biomarkers, genomics for clinical use, early phase trials, and patient reported outcomes.
Dr. Williams received his Bachelor’s in Science from Buena Vista University and his Pharm.D. from Creighton University and subsequently completed his PGY-1 residency in Pharmacy Practice at the University of North Carolina, and his PGY-2 Oncology Practice residency at the University of Texas/Audie Murphy VA. Dr. Williams is currently pursuing an Executive MBA (EMBA) in healthcare management from Creighton University with expected completion in May 2021. He is a fellow of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association and the past chair of Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Oncology Specialty Council.
