I have been a pharmacy tech for over 25 years, working in environments from big box retail and hometown corner drug store to hospital and clinic. I became nationally certified through the PTCB in 2001 and hold an Iowa Certified Technician License. My roles include managing all operations of the medication dispensary, which includes filling prescriptions, inventory management, medication compliance and insurance billing and claims. I admix chemotherapy for administration in the office and initiate prior authorizations and manage the financial assistance program.
I am blessed to be in a position to help others, especially during difficult times in their lives. If I can help to relieve the stress of one patient, for even one moment of this journey, then I have succeeded.
My husband Jeremy and I have two beautiful daughters, Jori and Lainey, who keep us busy with travel volleyball, as well as two boxers, Oscar and Sully. We enjoy gardening, camping and learning/practicing how to be survivalists.
I am a Chicago native and Chicago Blackhawks fanatic! I am also a Blesie Tree Foundation board member and really enjoy finding creative ways to pay it forward. This year I have taken role in OPTA as Chairperson and am working with the most phenomenal technicians all over the country to define the role of an Oncology Pharmacy Technician in the clinical space.
