Tanya Hibler, RN, is an infusion nurse at Joliet Oncology Hematology Associates (JOHA) in New Lenox, IL. Tanya started her career receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She worked as a discharge planner for a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center and later became the Director of Social Services. Tanya decided to change direction as she started her family. She owned and operated a child daycare center for 12 years while her children were young. As her children grew, she decided to change her career path again and go back to school for nursing. Tanya received her ADN in nursing from Joliet Junior College in 2015 and graduated with high honors. She went straight into the Oncology/Hematology field as an RN at JOHA, an outpatient infusion clinic. Tanya enjoys working with patients and attributes her success as an oncology nurse due to having a background in social work along with a nursing degree. She feels that her understanding of family dynamics and meeting patients physical and emotional needs has driven her to thrive as an RN in the specialty of oncology. Tanya has attained and maintained certification by the ONS with a Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate. She continues to learn and challenge herself in the ever changing world of oncology. She hopes to advance in her career and continue her education in nursing. Tanya appreciates the opportunities and experiences she has received while working for JOHA and hopes to continue to guide patients through their path to wellness.
