R. Steven Paulson, M.D., specializes in medical oncology and hematology and is board certified with a subspecialty certification in medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Paulson has served as President and Chairman of the Board for Texas Oncology since 2000. Dr. Paulson received his BS in Chemistry from Texas A&M University, in 1972 and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas, in 1977. He received training in internal medicine at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts from 1977-79, and completed training in internal medicine at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, from 1979-80, where he also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology 1980-82. Dr. Paulson received additional training at the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington in 1982. He received an MBA from University of Texas at Dallas in 2010. Dr. Paulson is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Texas Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and serves on the Texas Society of Medical Oncology board of directors and as its president in 1991. Dr. Paulson continues to serve on multiple committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, is on the board of the American Cancer Society and serves on the National Policy Board Executive Committee of US Oncology.
