Dr. Jason Porter is a medical oncologist and hematologist at the West Cancer Center and Research Institute, where he serves as the director of the lung cancer disease research group. He spends the majority of his time working in the clinics with patients diagnosed with lung cancer. He derives great joy from helping patients and their families as they navigate this frightening territory. Before he was a physician, he walked the cancer journey with both his parents, and he knows first-hand what it's like to wait on a test result or a call back to address a new symptom or concern. He specializes in treating patients with molecularly altered lung cancers, as well as those lung cancers with no actionable alteration. He dedicates an extensive amount of time to keeping up with research and literature on lung cancer. Doing so allows him to provide the most up-to-date clinical practices to his patients. He participates in clinical research whenever possible, and his goal is to always offer cutting-edge therapies!
