Serena Welch serves as the Department Administrator for Neurosurgery and Neurology at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills California.
As an advocate, Serena believes now more than ever we need to be our greatest champions for our patients and the communities we serve. She currently serves as the National Co-President for Kaiser Permanente African American Professional Association (KPAAPA). KPAAPA is Business Resource Group (BRG) that focuses on being culturally competent association of employees and physicians. They are committed to the elimination of health disparities in marginalized communities by fostering Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity. She oversees and manages regional chapters in the Colorado, Georgia, Mid-Atlantic States, Northern California, Northwest, Southern California, and Washington Kaiser Permanente Regions.
Prior to her current role, Serena managed the Hematology/Oncology department at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. This department collaborated with services across the medical center to provide integrated care for patients all in one location. That care included access to Oncology Infusion Center, Oncologist Clinic, Oncology Pharmacy, Case Management, Social Medicine, and Clinic Research Trails.
