Kristen Binaso is an Associate Director of Scientific Advocacy and Professional Societies for Pharmacyclics, an AbbVie Company. She is a 1997 Rutgers College of Pharmacy BPharm graduate and has extensive experience in community practice, not-for-profit organizations and the pharmaceutical industry. After graduation, she worked as a pharmacy recruiter for CVS/Pharmacy, covering colleges and new markets across the US and for Rite Aid in California. She then transitioned to an Industry Relations role at the American Pharmacists Association in Washington, DC where she eventually led the team responsible for securing funding via grants and sponsorships, to support the development of pharmacist education in a number of disease areas, implementation of medication therapy management, pharmacy-based immunizations, and a number of joint initiatives with ASHP, AMCP, NACDS and ASCP. She then moved to Boehringer Ingelheim in Patient Advocacy & Professional Relations focused on respiratory (COPD, asthma, IPF and Scleroderma) and eventually overseeing all of the activities for the Primary Care portfolio (respiratory and cardio-renal metabolism) including pipeline, clinical trials, and patient engagement to support patient focused drug development before coming to Pharmacyclics in 2020 to focus on Hematology and supporting medical affairs. Throughout her career she has been a preceptor for numerous interns and fellows.
