Dr. Christopher Elder, Pharm.D., BCOP is currently a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist at Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute. Dr. Elder completed his undergraduate work with a B.S. in Biology/Chemistry from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, followed by completing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Georgia. With a strong passion for patient care and clinical pharmacy, Dr. Elder completed both a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency and a PGY-2 hematology/oncology residency at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC. He is board-certified in oncology pharmacy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. His areas of expertise and research interests include patient education, supportive care, patient safety, and immuno-oncology. Dr. Elder has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals including JACCP, JOPP, and JHOP. For the last several years, Dr. Elder has created and delivered content related to oncology supportive care for ACCP’s Pharmacotherapy Board Certification/Recertification Prep Course. He has been an invited speaker for multiple organizations including Pharmacy Times, ACCP, ASHP, FPA, and FSHP and continues to serve on the legislative and programming committees for FLASCO and the IVE and clinical programming committees with NCODA.
