Makenna Smack is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She obtained her bachelor’s in biochemistry from Brigham Young University and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Roseman University in Utah. Though a small-town Idaho girl at heart, Makenna’s pharmacy training took her across the country from Utah to Ohio then Texas and Massachusetts. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Memorial Hermann Hospital System in Houston and PGY2 in Oncology at Boston Medical Center. She enjoys the snowless winters of Houston, trying new restaurants, and loves taking walks with her husband and son. Makenna is passionate about patient education and enjoys empowering patients with knowledge through all stages of their cancer journey.
