Name
Nurse Track: Thanatology for Oncology Healthcare Professionals
Date & Time
Friday, October 28, 2022, 2:45 PM - 3:45 PM
Description

Description: Thanatology is the scientific study of death and the practices associated with it, including the study of the needs of the terminally ill and their families. Death is a universal human concern that has been examined by multiple medically integrated disciplines, but very inconsistently, depending on area of practice and inability to understand it can lead to burnout. Something so common in our field must be learned about in order to ensure continued professional growth and most training standards do not require the discussion of death or how to understand or work with it. Not only do we need to learn and understand it for ourselves, but improve upon the education of students and residents, regardless of what area of practice they pursue.

Speaker: Robert Mancini, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA, St. Luke's Health System and Idaho State University
