Jasey Cárdenas, Associate Director, Federal Government Relations, joined McKesson’s specialty provider organization the US Oncology Network as part of the federal relations team in Washington, DC in August of 2022. As part of the US Oncology Network Federal team, Jasey lobbies on all issues impacting the Network. He works closely with the Government Affairs team on implementing federal legislative and regulatory strategies through leadership roles with allied associations and industry trade groups.
Prior to joining The Network, Jasey worked at the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) as their Associate Director of Public Policy & Strategic Engagement. At AACP he represented all accredited Schools and Colleges of Pharmacy. As the associations sole lobbyist, he worked closely with Deans and high-level faculty on promoting pharmacy education at all levels of the federal government, including Members of Congress, their staff and Agency officials.
Jasey has worked in public policy and government affairs for 8 years since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania where he studied Psychology with a minor in Science, Technology & Society. He previously worked for the United Spinal Association as their Senior Policy Associate, promoting the association’s advocacy and policy priorities for individuals with disabilities, including veterans. Prior to that, Jasey worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Filemon Vela (TX-34) as a Legislative Assistant, where he handled a portfolio consisting of education, healthcare, social security, civil rights, arts, Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and Border Caucus issues. Jasey is a LEDA, Gates Millennium and Coca-Cola scholar who has worked with non-profits to help promote diversity in universities across the United States. He is originally from Weslaco, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley.
