John Driscoll Senior Operations Consultant John Driscoll is a Senior Operations Consultant with American Oncology Network (AON), based at Summit Cancer Centers in Spokane, Washington. AON is an alliance of cancer physicians and veteran healthcare leaders dedicated to ensuring the long-term success and viability of oncology diagnosis and treatment in community-based settings. It is the fastest growing network of community oncology practices delivering local access to exceptional cancer care.
John has decades of experience in health care strategic planning, physician network development, clinic administration, payor relations, pre-paid managed care systems, and value-based contracting. He has deep expertise in growth strategies, financial planning, capitalization, and diversification strategies.
A former member of the Washington State House of Representatives, Mr. Driscoll served as Vice Chair of the House Healthcare and Wellness Committee and sponsored key legislation including appropriations to expand primary care medical residencies, developing new GME funding sources, elimination of pre-existing condition restrictions for organ transplants, and expanded protection for healthcare providers from unfair insurance company practices. He was named 2010 Washington State Medical Association Legislator of the Year in 2010, as well as the Washington Ambulatory Surgery Center Association Legislator of the Year.
As Executive Director of Project Access, a nonprofit volunteer charitable medical services entity sponsored by the Spokane County Medical Society, he organized and lead hundreds of local physicians, community hospitals, ancillary healthcare providers, business and governmental organizations who provided professional and hospital services, imaging and pharmaceutical assistance and program funding. Services were provided at no charge to low-income uninsured patients and yielded a ratio of $10 in donated direct healthcare services for every $1 of funding received. Because of the vast volunteer network of providers and hospitals, Project Access was able to provide millions of dollars in direct healthcare services that benefited thousands of uninsured individuals.
Prior to his time as a legislator and non-profit ED, John was the Director of Physician Services for Providence Health Services Eastern Washington. He developed and managed hospital-owned specialty medical practices and was responsible for operations, contractual compliance, performance monitoring, and physician recruitment.
John received his BS degree from Washington State University and his MS from Whitworth University.
