Christie earned her Pharm.D. at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Abilene, Texas. During her P4 year, she chartered the Texas Tech NCODA PSO chapter across the four pharmacy campuses. In order to promote the interprofessional growth of fellow students, the chapter also included members of the School of Nursing. As chapter president, Christie arranged monthly speakers of different oncology professions, ensuring that the same profession was not represented in consecutive months to highlight the reaches of the oncology field. Upon graduation, Christie worked as a traveling oncology pharmacist with Texas Oncology, working at more than 20 different sites across the state of Texas in less than a year. Christie is currently the pharmacy manager at Texas Oncology Waco, overseeing two sites. She continues to be involved as a member of the NCODA Residency Council.
