Erlene Seymour is a malignant hematologist who serves as a medical director at Flatiron Health, where she focuses on conducting outcomes research and curating education around real-world data.

Prior to joining Flatiron in 2021, Erlene served as an assistant professor at Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute/Wayne State University, where she was a clinical trial investigator focused on chronic lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma. Her health services research focused on the effects on patients of the financial burden of cancer treatments and on value-based initiatives aimed at decreasing out-of-pocket costs.

Erlene’s work has been published in major peer-reviewed journals and she serves on an American Society of Hematology subcommittee.

Erlene received a bachelor of science in cellular and molecular biology from the University of Michigan and an MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency, and hematology and oncology fellowship, at the University of Michigan.
