Marty Whalen is currently Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Vice President, US Hematology Sales. In this role he is responsible for the commercial sales strategy, operations, and promotion of the BMS Hematology portfolio.
Prior to becoming Vice President, US Hematology Sales, Marty served as Vice President, US Oncology Sales. Before joining the sales team, Marty was the Executive Director of National Accounts. In this role he was responsible for the commercial strategy and performance of the BMS portfolio across various channels to include Payers, PBM’s, Hospital GPO’s and the Federal market (VA and Department of Defense).
Marty joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 2014 after leading the Managed Care group at Essilor of America, a Vision/Optical company. Prior to Essilor, Marty spent 17 years at Pfizer in a variety of managed care, sales, and marketing role of increasing responsibility.
Marty maintains an active interest in leading and developing others as he currently sits on the BMS Veteran Committee Network (VCN) steering committee among other community based organizations. Marty received his undergraduate from the United States Military Academy and was Captain of the Men’s Tennis team his senior year. He served in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery Officer and also received his Master’s in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas.
