Katherine Clift has over 20 years of Pharmacy Tech experience, working in various pharmacy settings. Getting her start on a stool looking at microfiche for Eckerd’s formally Revco, she ended up spending 10 years with Costco Wholesale Pharmacy, but has worked with other various major retail chains including Longs Drug Store, Walgreens, and prn with a locally independent Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Lawrence Pharmacy. In between her time in retail pharmacy, she spent two years with Neighbor Care Pharmacy (Omnicare) as the Med Order Entry Supervisor.

Currently she is an Insurance Specialist II – In Office Dispensary and Retail Pharmacy product line for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Business Office – US Oncology Network. In her current role Katie is responsible for, taking the adjudicated oral drug data from the pharmacy data system and entering it into the practice management system, monitoring the claims to ensure proper pharmacy billing policy in accordance with Government and Commercial Insurance oral drug guidelines and regulations for primary and secondary billing. She also reviews all oral oncolytic invoices for accurate posting and reimbursement from payers, identifying, researching and resolving any reimbursement issues, to include denied claims, DIR fees, pharmacy audits overpayments, and manual CMS-1500 paper billing using proper NDC, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding in accordance with CMS national billing guidelines. Working with a team of Clinical Directors, Pharmacists, Specialty Managers, Accountants, Department Supervisors, and dispensing staff, she has helped research and implements new and successful business and clinical standard operating procedures for oral oncolytic drugs.

Katie received her AS and is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University pursuing a higher degree in Health Science. She has been PTCB certified for over 15 years, and has held a Pharmacy Technician licenses with the State Board of Pharmacy in California, Florida, and currently Virginia.
